What Is Peripheral Nerve Stimulation?
A peripheral nerve stimulation (or PNS) device that can be subcutaneously implanted next to a peripheral nerve for pain management at Preston Surgery Center. Our board-certified and fellowship-trained pain management specialists, Dr. Mohammad Tariq, Dr. David Keelen, and Dr. Gabor Racz, are experienced in placing this neuromodulation device. This is a non-drug treatment for men and women with chronic back pain, complex regional pain syndrome, failed back surgeries, or pain from a traumatic back injury. Patients who qualify for this type of stimulation implant have probably tried many treatment methods with no success in alleviating pain.
In an outpatient procedure, one of our pain management specialists can implant a peripheral nerve stimulator in our AAAASF-accredited surgical facility here in Frisco, TX. Once the peripheral nerve stimulation electrode is in place and working, the electrical impulses can change the feeling of pain to what is described as a slight tingle. If you would like to discuss this opportunity for your pain management treatment, please make an appointment. In the event that you need to have the peripheral nerve stimulation device removed, repaired, or replaced, our pain management specialists can perform those procedures, too.
