Meet Dr. David Keelen
Dr. David Keelen is a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and has a subspecialty board certification in pain medicine. He has joined the staff at Preston Surgery Center, Konen and Associates, and Baylor Center for Pain Management with offices in Dallas and Frisco, TX. Dr. Keelen is one of only a handful of physicians in the country uniquely trained in intrathecal therapy with a micro-dosing strategy. He does his best to offer patients with chronic pain an array of treatment options to help improve their quality of life with long-term success.
Skills and specialties
Dr. Keelen is a specialist in the treatment of numerous pain syndromes, including chronic neck and back pain, post-laminectomy syndrome, nerve pain, arthritis, and muscular pain. Dr. Keelen is very dedicated to the success of his patients. He is a compassionate physician who believes in a goal-directed approach to pain management. Dr. Keelen treats each patient as an individual and tailors their therapy accordingly.
Education
He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX where he graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 grade point average in cellular and molecular biology. He then pursued his medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX where he graduated as a doctor of medicine. He then completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology at UTMB. He completed his training with a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at UTMB.
Personal
Dr. Keelen has lived in the Dallas, TX area for many years. He is a graduate of Cedar Hill High School in South Dallas, TX. When he is not at work, Dr. Keelen enjoys spending time with his family.
