Meet Dr. Gabor Racz

Dr. Gabor Racz is one of our internationally and nationally known board-certified and fellowship-trained pain management physicians at Preston Surgery Center in Frisco, TX. He is a leader and innovator in his field. Dr. Racz is a fellow and a diplomate of the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP). At Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX, he was named Grover Murray Professor. He also served as professor and chair emeritus in the department of anesthesiology and the director of pain services.

Dr. Racz is the founder and director of the Annual Advanced Pain Conference and Practical Workshop in Budapest since the first conference in 1996. He is a founder and past president of the WIP, currently serving on the WIP executive board, as well as the executive board of American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is the founder and first president of Texas Pain Society and the director of the annual TTUHSC Pain Symposium from 1983 – 2012. 

Skills and specialties

Dr. Racz is a pain specialist who treats patients with severe pelvic pain, intractable headaches, and chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS) using a personalized approach. To relieve painful symptoms for his patients, Dr. Racz is highly experienced in performing neuroplasty (epidural adhesiolysis), failed back surgery, and neuromodulation.

Education

Dr. Racz graduated from the University of Liverpool Medical School. He completed his residency at State University of New York in Syracuse, NY where he was an assistant resident and worked his way up to senior resident in anesthesiology at SUNY Upstate Medical Center. Dr. Racz served on the staff at SUNY until 1978.

Personal

Dr. Racz was born in Budapest, Hungary. While he has moved to many places in his lifetime, Dr. Racz has lived in Texas for many years. He enjoys living in the DFW area with his wife and children.
