Meet Dr. Richard Swails
As one of our board-certified and fellowship-trained podiatrists, Dr. Richard Swails has more than 17 years of surgical experience. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a dedicated member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and the Texas Podiatric Medical Association (TPMA).
Dr. Swails performs surgical procedures at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in McKinney, Texas Health Surgery Center Craig Ranch in McKinney, and Preston Surgery Center in Frisco, TX.

Dr. Swails specializes in podiatric medicine and surgery, which includes reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, and diabetic limb salvage.
Education
Dr. Swails attended Phillips University in Enid, OK where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1997. Then, he earned a doctor of podiatric medicine degree in 2001 from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He continued his specialty training in Kansas City, MO as a surgical resident in the Medical Center of Independence Podiatric Surgical Residency Program from 2001 – 2003.

Dr. Swails is originally from Oklahoma City, OK and enjoys living in the DFW area. He is the founder of McKinney Footcare, and he currently practices podiatry in McKinney, TX.
